Now we are being told it is our fault that man is responsible for “global warming”. Less than half the scientific community believes this. In fact it has been monitored that the planet Mars is having the same atmospheric warming condition and they don’t even have any SUVs.

Is there any solution to this mess?

Countries are signing the Kyoto Treaty which will limit the amount of pollution a country will be allowed to emit. In his wisdom President Bush has refused to sign. Sounds fine, but countries such as China won’t agree and even if they did they would not abide by it unless it was to their economic advantage.

The “treaty solution” is all about money. It would in many cases cripple much of our manufacturing output because it would make products too expensive and give foreign countries greater economic advantage. When there is a problem “always follow the money” and you will know who is causing it and why. Pollution activists are either stupid or in the pay directly or indirectly of those who wish to weaken our country. Many do not realize how they are being duped.

That’s one of the reasons we have so few nuclear energy utilities. Folks have been taught to fear these facilities rather than taught to understand how safe they really are. The old “not in my back yard” story is heard from the well-to-do who have the political clout to stop whatever they do not want and from those ignorant of the facts. Yes, we all know about Three Mile Island. Not that it could not happen again.

But new nuclear plants are much safer than they were 30 years ago. No facility of any kind will be 100%. Learn to live with the realities of the world.

What is it that is directly causing worldwide pollution? Is it really the SUVs or the old fashioned incandescent light bulbs? Maybe because our factories are burning too much coal or trucks are pouring out tons of hydrocarbon emissions? Really?

We need (or want) the products produced by the factories and the goods must reach us in some form of transportation.

The actual problem is too many people. Until the world stops increasing its population there will be more and more production of goods creating more and more pollution. We need a treaty that will stop procreation. Every other child might have to be sterilized at birth. We know that is never going to happen, but it is the ultimate solution.

The Earth is a space ship and there is room for a limited number of beings.

Unfortunately, the ‘ultimate solution’ is both politically and psychologically not possible today. Maybe in 50 years.
